I have been using Cerec 3D since December 13, 2002. Since then I have placed thousands of restorations of various types. Cerec is a highly advanced computer system that has a BluRay camera that I use after tooth preparation for imaging, or taking a digital impression. My patients appreciate the fact there will be no typical messy impressions. Once the images are taken, I use the systems advanced software to design whatever restoration is required. I am able to fabricate fillings (inlays/onlays), crowns (caps), partial crowns, and veneers. Once designed, an appropriately shaded pre-fired porcelain block is inserted into the milling unit and precisely cuts the restoration according to the design. The restoration is then either polished or oven glazed and then immediately permanently bonded in place. There is no need for any temporaries, or second follow up visit. The whole process can be completed in under an hour for certain procedures, and may take up to 90 minutes in others.
